Abu Dhabi Crown Prince meets outgoing UN mediator for Yemen

ABU DHABI, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammad Al-Nahyan discussed with the outgoing United Nations special envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad the Arab coalition's efforts in Yemen.
"The United Arab Emirates is committed to supporting UN-led efforts for a political solution in Yemen that ends the rebellion and eliminates terrorist groups thus ensuring the return of security and stability," Sheikh Mohammad was quoted as saying in a statement.
He went on to mention the efforts of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, which includes the UAE, in helping the Yemeni people restore their security and stability and ensuring the arrival of humanitarian assistance.
Furthermore, the senior UAE official expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the role assumed by the UN official, during his time in office, aimed at reaching a political solution to the conflict.
For his part, the UN official said he appreciates the UAE's continuous role in providing humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people. (end) bsu.sd
