Some 1,850 companies plan to invest in Iraq - official

KUWAIT, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Around 2,300 personalities representing 1,850 companies from around the world have been confirmed to participate in a Kuwait-hosted conference over investment in Iraq, said an official Wednesday.
The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is collaborating with the World Bank and Iraq's National Investment Commission to ensure that preparations are in place for the event , KCCI chairman Ali Al-Ghanim said in a statement.
He revealed that the meeting, which will be held on the sidelines of the "Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq" on February 12-14, would set in motion a number of major development projects in Baghdad.
Al-Ghanim went on to welcome all attendees to the major event, where international organizations and dozens of governments are expected to announce financial aid to Iraq. (end) mak.nam
