Kuwait Expo '18 launched in Kuwait

KUWAIT, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Minister of Public Works Hussam Al-Roumi said Tuesday Kuwait Expo 2018 was part of efforts to honor His Highness the Amir's vision to transform Kuwait into a regional and international financial and commercial hub.
Al-Roumi, also Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, told reporters after inauguration of Kuwait Expo 2018, held under auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, that Expo was part of a series of events contributing to "the development of relations in different domains." Kuwait Expo 2018, he added, would be a suitable opportunity to know first-hand local, regional and international companies, as well as small and medium-size enterprizes.
The expo, said Al-Roumi, would contribute to better economic, trade and investment cooperation, as well as exchanging of expertise and building a network of relations.
Investors will have a good venue to seal deals during Expo, he said, and Kuwaiti manufacturers would be displaying their products. There are 140 companies from 30 countries participating in Expo.
New Kuwait 2035 vision aims at making the North Gulf country a lucrative foreign investment environment, said Al-Roumi.
The government and parliament of Kuwait, said Al-Roumi, produced a number of financial, economic and investment laws that would make the economic environment more "open, transparent and attractive." The five-day Expo includes side-line exhibitions, like the SMEs, Maker Fair and knowledge-based economy. (end) mam.bs
