KUWAIT, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah met on Sunday with a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors to Kuwait.
A statement by the foreign ministry said Al-Jarallah briefed the diplomats on the ministerial meetings for the international coalition against the so-called Islamic state (IS), scheduled to take place on February 13th, the first of its kind to take place after the liberation of Iraqi territories from IS.
Al-Jarallah noted the meeting will include representatives from 70 countries, four organizations and international institutes.
The ministerial meeting comes as part of the joint international efforts and coordination among member countries combating terrorism, and to follow up on the strategy setup by the coalition to combat IS, Al-Jarallah explained.
The Deputy foreign minister added the ministerial meeting is taking place days before Kuwait International Conference of Iraq Reconstruction, scheduled to take place on February 12 until February 14th, under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Al-Jarallah said the first day of the conference will be for non-governments-Organizations (NGO), with participation of around 100 organizations, noting that the second day will be for the private sector, which will be for the first time, and so far around 1,800 companies and businessmen have registered.
The third day will be the official inauguration day, co-chaired by the State of Kuwait, Iraq, UN, European Union, and the World Bank, Al-Jarallah added. (end) tab.mb
