TEHRAN, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Abdulaziz Al-Mandeel won the 60-meter hurdle race at the Asian indoor track and field tournament in Tehran, capital of Iran, raising to three the number of gold medals won by Kuwait athletes Saturday.
Al-Mandeel finished the race with 7.71 seconds, out-running Chinese and Japanese sprinters.
Earlier, Khaled Al-Subaiee won the triple jump event when he landed at the 26.16-meter mark.
Majed Al-Zaid won the heptathlon by collecting 5,228 points, a new Kuwaiti record.
Ali Al-Sebagha, of Kuwait, ranked third in five-meter pole vaulting earlier today.
The tournament, which kicked off February 1 and would conclude today, involves 360 athletes from 22 countries. (pickup previous) mw.bs
