MARRAKECH, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- A group of Kuwaiti female well-achieving students visited Marrakech as part of a trip organized by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to Morocco.
The group visited the famous Majorelle Garden, which was named after the famous French painter Jacques Majorelle, who spent 40 years in building it.
Majorelle painted the garden's walls with bright electric blue color, the shade of blue that was then named Majorelle in the French language.
In the 1980s, the Garden was purchased by fashion designers, Yves Saint-Laurent and French writer Pierre Berge who worked to restore it.
The students expressed their admiration of the Garden, which is considered one of the top attractions in Marrakech, as it contains rare species of plants brought from the five continents of the world.
They also visited the Yves Saint-Laurent museum, which is located nearby the Garden.
The museum is a cultural center with a library, documents' center and photo exhibition.
The group then concluded the trip by visiting Jamaa el Fna'a in Marrakech's old city, used as a market for crafts and arts by locals and tourists.
The high school outstanding students started a visit to Morocco, organized by the Fund to learn about projects financed by it. It started January 13 and ends on January 20. (end) bmh.nhq
