Iraqi Pres. calls for closer coop. with Bahrain

BAGHDAD, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Iraqi President Fuad Masum on Thursday urged for enhancing cooperation between his country and Bahrain at diverse levels.
An official statement quoted the president, during a reception of Bahraini legislators, as indicating that closer cooperation between the two countries is necessary for peace and progress at the regional level.
Ali Abdullah, head of the Bahraini delegation, echoed identical ideas and conveyed greetings from the Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa and the speaker to the Iraqi president. (end) ahh.rk
