GCC cultural environment initiative launched

KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Environmental Volunteer Initiative launched a GCC cultural environmental initiative under the title "Our Gulf Our Sea" aims at raising awareness and community participation in protecting the marine and coastal environment in the six countries.
The head of the environmental awareness team Masoumah Mathkouri told KUNA on Thursday that this initiative reflects Kuwait's policy in enhancing the joint GCC cooperation in all fields among the Gulf brothers.
She said that the first stop was in Oman, where they participated in the inauguration ceremony of Oman Environment Day, which was held at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Salalah under the theme "Sustainable Environment".
She added that the Initiative has prepared several lectures and events, which will be organized in the GCC countries, in addition to preparing more than 30,000 environmental publications, to spread environmental awareness and benefit from Gulf experiences in this regard.(end) zak.haq
