KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced Thursday the distribution of relief assistance to displaced people in southern Sudan, with cooperation of World Food Programme (WFP) and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS).
The aircraft will airdrop 32 tons of food supplies in southern Sudan, with the overall aid distribution amounting to 187 tons, said Chairman of KRCS Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer to KUNA.
The KRCS delegation is supervising the implementation of a number of humanitarian tasks in several locations in the areas inhabited by a large number of poor and needy affected by events in southern Sudan during the past years, he added.
Al-Sayer pointed out that Kuwait continues to extend a helping hand to vulnerable and those afflicted by natural disasters in various parts of the world. (end) zak.hs
