Kuwaiti students visit Albanian Shkodra city

KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- A group of Kuwaiti students participating in (Be An Achiever) program organized by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in cooperation with Ministry of Education visited Thursday the city of Shkodra northwestern Albania.
In a statement to KUNA, KFAED's Press Chief Ahmad Al-Sarraf, whose is also the trip's advisor, said students visited several historical and cultural locations in one of the oldest cities of Albania.
"Shkodra is an important cultural and economic center in Albania due to its connection with Adriatic Sea and Italian ports, it was a meeting place for different cultures, many scientist and Clerics graduated from it", Al-Sarraf said.
The Students visited Rozafa castle and Abu Bker mosque, he added.
Othman Al-Suwaidan, a student, said the trip made him more open to other peoples' culture and traditions, adding that he enjoyed taking photos with his friends at places they visited.
By planning such trips, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) aims at rewarding outstanding students and encouraging them to get more knowledge and excellence.
KFAED was established in 1961 and aims at helping countries to achieve development by financing International and regional development institutions.
