CAIRO, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait cultural office in Cairo launched an initiative to network with its peers from the Gulf Cooperation Council member countries for helping the GCC students in Egypt be better qualified for the labor market.
The initiative aims to share views on how to solve the problems of the GCC students in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, head of Kuwait cultural office Dr. Ahmad Al-Mutairi told KUNA on Wednesday.
He made the comments following the second meeting of the cultural attaches of the GCC embassies hosted by Kuwait Embassy in Cairo.
The meeting reviewed the outcome of the meeting of the heads of the GCC cultural offices with Egypt's former minister of higher education, Dr. Al-Mutairi disclosed.
"We have discussed academic issues of concern for the GCC students, including the enrolment fees at the Egyptian state-run and private-run universities as well as the problems relating to exams evaluations.
"These issues will be discussed further with the Egyptian minister of higher education in the future," he went on.
"We have also discussed the possibility of exchanging master's and doctoral theses among the GCC alumni with a view to promoting scientific research in the GCC countries," Dr. Al-Mutairi added.
He appreciated the efforts of the Egyptian officials to facilitate the study and stay of the GCC students in Egypt, voicing hope for even closer cooperation in the coming period. (end) aff.rg.gb
