PUIC warns recognizing Jerusalem as "Israel's capital" threatens global peace

TEHRAN, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- The Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) has warned that "recognition of holy Jerusalem as capital of Israel poses a threat to global peace and security." The PUIC, at conclusion of its 13th meeting, issued a statement calling for repealing membership of the "Zionist entity" in the parliamentary body as a penalty for Tel Aviv's challenges against the international laws, condemning the recent decision by US President Donald Trump "recognizing the sacred city Jerusalem as the capital of Israel." It called upon member states in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with connections with Israel to "freeze these relationships until the American administration back down from its wrong resolution" with respect of shifting the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, re-affirming the continuous support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate cause of establishing an independent states with Jerusalem as capital of the aspired state.
It hailed recent defeat of the so-called Islamic State, condemned "the grave breaches" against the Muslim Rohingya and called for boosting dialogue among nations of various religions to face fanaticism and tackle misconceptions about Islam. The conference was attended by a Kuwaiti delegation, headed by the secretary general of the parliamentary caucus, MP Dr. Odah Al-Ruwaiee, and member of the executive committee of the caucus Dr. Khalil Abdullah, in addition to the parliament general secretary, Allam Al-Kandari. 9end) fz.rk
