White House physician says Trump's mental, physical health "excellent"

WASHINGTON, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump's overall physical and mental health is "excellent" with mostly normal results after a battery of tests and examinations, a White House physician said late Tuesday.
Dr. Ronny Jackson, a rear admiral in the Navy and the White House physician, told reporters during the White House briefing that Trump, 72, has remarkably good cardiac health. During the annual physical exam on Friday, Jackson said he also performed a cognitive test designed to screen for neurological impairment at the president's request, which showed he did not suffer from mental issues that prevent him from functioning as executive-in-chief.
"There's no indication whatsoever that he has any cognitive issues. I've found no reason whatsoever to think the president has any issues whatsoever with his thought processes," Jackson noted.
Following the first physical exam since taking office, he told Trump, who weighed-in at 239 pound, to lose some weight, get more exercise and increase his cholesterol medicine.
"The president, he and I talked," Dr. Jackson said. "He would like to lose 10 to 15 pounds. We talked about diet and exercise a lot. He's more enthusiastic about the diet part than the exercise part, but we're going to do both". (end) hy.hb
