Malaysia-Kuwait trade exchange drops 25.8 pct - figures

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Trade exchange between Malaysia and Kuwait dropped 25.8 percent between January and November 2017 to USD 478 million, against USD 630 million in the same period a year before, figures by the Arab investment and businesses forum and exhibition showed Tuesday.
The figures, based on statistics by the Malaysian foreign trade authority, showed that Malaysian exports to Kuwait increased by 11.7 percent to USD 190 million. They were USD 170 million in 2016.
Malaysia exports palm oil, agriculture products, woods, sea food, electrical and electronic products, raw fertilizers and minerals.
However, Kuwait exports to Malaysia plunged by 39.7 percent to USD 278 million compared to USD 460 million in 2016, they said.
Kuwait exports crude oil, petroleum and chemical products, metal products, machines, spare parts and some food products.
The forum, due until January 23, features participation of over 300 business people. (end) aab.bs
