Israel to re-open Karam Abu Salem border crossing Tues.

GAZA, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Israeli authorities reopen Karam Abu Salem commercial border crossing, south of the Gaza Strip, after a two-day closure, on Tuesday, said Palestinian crossings and borders authority on Monday.
The Israeli side decided to re-open the crossing as of Tuesday morning after it was shut down for two days, the authority added in a press statement.
For his part, Major General Yoav Mordechai, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), affirmed that the crossing would be re-opened tomorrow morning after the destruction of a tunnel under the crossing.
The tunnel was posing a security threat, he added, noting that Israeli authorities decided to re-open the border crossing after appreciating situation and destroying the tunnel.
The Israeli forces shut down the border crossing on Sunday morning after it had bombarded some Palestinian areas, south of the Strip, on Saturday. (end) wab.hm
