Kuwaiti racers bag 18 cups in Bahrain drag race

By Ahmad Al-Rifaee KUWAIT, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti racers have bagged up to 18 cups in second round of Bahrain drag race championship for cars and motorcycles, concluded early on Saturday.
Director of Basel Club Saif Al-Mutairi praised, in a phone contact with KUNA, the racers distinguished performance and their keenness on making records for lifting name of Kuwait aloft at such an international sports competition.
He attributed the good results to well-planned and executed preparations, affirming determination to seek identical results in future tournaments.
Al-Mutairi expressed gratitude to Chairman of the Bahraini Autos Union Sheikh Abdullah bin Issa Al-Khalifa for the noticeable efforts he had exerted to ensure success of the competitions.
In "promod" category, Turki Al-Humaidi came first and Jaber Al-Maghrebi was third. In "outlaw," Mohammad Awad second. In "super street," Turki Al-Humaidi first and Mohammad Qassem second.
In "street" competition, Mohammad Sulaiman was first. In "10.5," Sulaiman Al-Arai'er first. In "8.5" contest, Yousef Al-Sheikh first and Yousef Al-Failakawi second. In "9.5," Sayyed Hussein Al-Haddad first. In the "four-cylinder," Badr Al-Dashti first.
In the motorcycles, Badr bin Eidan came first in "street" and Meshari Al-Merri and Meshari Al-Harbi third in the same category. In "super street," Badr Bin Eidan came second and Misfer Al-Misfer third. In "pro-bike," Yaacoub Al-Ali first and Meshaal Al-Sabr second. (end) ayr.rk
