Brexit won't affect economic ties with Turkey - Zeybekci

ANKARA, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said Friday Britain's exiting from the European Union (EU) would not affect economic relations between Ankara and London.
Zeybekci, speaking after a meeting with Britain's Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox, said Turkey and Britain were keen to sign a free trade agreement, official media quoted him as saying.
He said the two sides decided to take necessary steps to further promote trade, economic and investment relations after Brexit.
Zeybekci hoped Turkish-British economic committee and the business forum would be held by mid-2018.
Fox said Britain wished to continue its "deep" strategic relations with Turkey following Brexit.
Fox termed trade relations with Turkey as strong, and hoped the two countries further collaborate in investment. (end) rs.bs
