KUWAIT, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- 1977 -- Ahmad Al-Zinjibari, a renowned composer, passes away at the age of 60.
1981 -- Kuwait hosts the Islamic Medical Science Organization's first conference.
1991 -- US Senate empowers US President George H.W. Bush to use power against Iraq if it did not withdraw its forces from Kuwait by January 15.
1995 -- Mohammad Hassan Al-Moussawi, a pioneer in the educational sector, passes away at the age of 83.
1999 -- Kuwaiti football player Jassem Al-Huwaidi receives best player award for 1998, from the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.
2003 -- Kuwait and Iran sign MoUs for supplying Kuwait with fresh water and supplying Iran with natural gas.
2004 -- The National Assembly approves the establishment of branches of foreign banks in the country with the condition that the percentage of national employees does not fall below 50 percent.
