BEIRUT, Dec 10 (KUNA) -- Nineteen Lebanese security forces were injured during confrontations with protesters near the US embassy in Beirut on Sunday, the internal security department said in a statement.
The security forces arrested 10 protesters who were suspected of inciting riots during the demonstration, it said.
It added the security forces were forced to disperse protesters after many of them started burning of tires, attacking public properties, and throwing rockets and molotiv cocktails at the government troops.
The arrestees - four Lebanese and six Palestinians - were questioned by the judicial authorities, said the statement.
Hundreds of people gathered at the road leading to the US embassy in northern Beirut to protest against US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
Many Arab and Muslim cities witnessed similar protests following Trump's decision. (end) wsm.bs
