1965 -- Eight members of the National Assembly submit resignation in protest of regulations that restrict freedoms.
1982 -- An Amiri decree was issued to establish the Institute for Banking Studies to be run under the umbrella of the Central Bank of Kuwait. The Institute aims to develop and improve the national workforce in the banking sector.
1997 -- The Cabinet approves a decree to amend law 139/91 over the supreme consultative committee for completion of the implementation of the Islamic Sharia and making it a permanent committee.
2005 -- Minister of Communications and Minister of Health Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah opens Hessa Al-Abdulrazzaq cardiac center. The 16-room center was equipped with the latest gear and technology.
2007 -- The Kuwaiti team for junior shooters wins gold in trap competitions as part of the 11th Asian tournament, held in Kuwait.
2009 -- Municipal Council agrees to the name change of Um Qaser area to Al-Buhaith as approved by the Cabinet.
2009 -- Kuwaiti businessman and senior lawmaker Abdulrazzaq Al-Sane passes away at age 81.
2014 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was honored by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for his efforts within the humanitarian field. (end) hb
