WASHINGTON, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump met with Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj of Libya to discuss the bilateral relationship between the US and Libya, and "opportunities for future partnerships," the White House said.
Trump "underscored the United States' continued support for the Government of National Accord and the United Nations-facilitated efforts to achieve political reconciliation in Libya," the White House said in a statement on Friday.
Trump also "thanked the Prime Minister for his cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts, and emphasized America's continued commitment to defeating ISIS (so-called Islamic state IS) and other jihadist terrorists in Libya," the statement added.
The two "agreed to work together to advance Libyan stability and unity," it said.
