Media forum aims to make interaction in Arab world, says official

KUWAIT, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- The media, technology, and communication forum is keen on bringing together most influential figures in one platform to make interaction in the Arab world, Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum Mahdi Al-Khamis affirmed Tuesday.
The three-day event, which kicked off earlier, discusses better ways to use media and social media sources in managing people's lives and businesses, Al-Khamis said in his speech at the forum.
The second edition of the forum is being held under the auspices of State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Information Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, he said.
For his part, Qusai Al-Shatti, Deputy Director General for Information Technology Sector at the Central Agency for Information Technology, pointed out the event's importance in mixing various tools of media and technology.
The forum includes 13 intensified training sessions and a symposium, Al-Shatti noted, adding that these sessions' main objective is to enhance individuals' perception, understanding, and abilities towards communication technologies.
Meanwhile, Karim Darwiche, Director of Administration at Arab Planning Institute, said that the forum includes participation of a number of media veterans and experts who will discuss modernized methods to enhance media sectors in the Arab world, and highlight media's role in backing development as well.
The forum will see participation of a number of state officials in the media, technology, and communication sectors, as well as experts, scholars, and investors in communication and technology fields on regional and international levels. (end) sss.ma
