KUWAIT, June 4 (KUNA) -- The new international airport development project is an integral part of Kuwait's 2035 vision as prescribed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Back in May, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah and visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan set the cornerstone of the ambitious project which will cost around USD 4.2 billion.
The project, carried out by a Turkish company, will allow the airport to accommodate some 13 million travelers annually.
The number will hopefully increase to 25 million travelers annually in the future, transforming Kuwait into an important economic and commercial hub. (end) ay.gta
