TEHRAN, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- Iran has welcomed a message it had received from the GCC countries, which focused on "improving relations," Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said here Wednesday.
Rouhani made this remark to the press prior to his regional trip to the GCC countries trip.
The GCC countries had sent a message that was delivered by the Kuwaiti government to discuss multilateral issues.
The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on good neighborly relations and security of the Gulf region. Iran has never thought of meddling in the internal affairs of other countries nor imposing religious and political beliefs on others, Rouhani noted.
Iran has always been after promoting regional relations and ensuring stability, unity and security in the entire region.
"Today, we should focus on further unity," he said, adding the gap created by big powers should be bridged in order to live peacefully together. (end)
