Israeli reconnaissance drone crashes over Lebanon

BEIRUT, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- An Israeli reconnaissance drone crashed Monday over Southern Lebanon near the borders with the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Lebanese national news agency (NNA) reported that the Lebanese Armed Forces and the UNIFIL dispatched patrols in search for the jet between Alma Shaab, Naqoura, and Labbouneh in Tyre district.
However, the dispatched teams have thus far failed to reach the sought area due to the steep land in the region.
Israeli troops were also seen mobilizing off the area, amid intensive overflights of Israeli reconnaissance planes and choppers.
In total breach of the UN Security Council Resolution 1701, the Israeli military violates Lebanese sovereignty almost on a daily basis through intrusions into Lebanon by land, over-flights of its airspace and violations of its territorial waters. (end) wsm.ibi
