KUWAIT, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti national was killed and five others wounded in Istanbul nightclub terror attack that took place late Saturday, said Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Suleiman al-Jarallah. Four people of the injured are currently receiving treatment, while the fifth left the hospital after his recovery, he told KUNA on Sunday.
He added that Kuwait's Consulate in Istanbul and its embassy in Ankara are constantly following up citizens' health.
The Turkish authorities are investigating people who were at the site when the attack occurred, he said, adding that "our consulate are following up these investigations".
Al-Jarallah reiterated Kuwait's condemnation and denouncement of such heinous acts of terrorism.
He also affirmed that Kuwait rejects all forms and manifestations of terrorism, and stands side by side with Turkey in all measures taken to counter and uproot terrorism.
Turkey announced earlier today that some 39 people were killed and 65 others injured in the nightclub attack, indicating that among the victims are a number of Arab citizens. (end) nma.tb.hm
