1961 -- The State of Kuwait established diplomatic ties with Libya at the ambassadorial level.
1964 -- Kuwait Gymnastics Federation was established.
1964 -- Iraqi poet Bader Shaker Al-Sayyab passed away at Amiri Hospital, aged 38, and was transported to Basra for burial.
1982 -- The Ministry of Information established a book censorship committee.
1995 -- The Cabinet agreed on establishment of relations with Slovenia, Botswana.
1999 -- Salmiya Club won the Mohammad Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi Football Cup.
2002 -- The Cabinet agreed on Kuwait joining the Islamic institution for the development of the private sector of the Islamic Development Bank which has a capital of USD one billion.
2003 -- Kuwait hosted the 16th GCC Football Cup. Saudi Arabia won the tournament.
2011 -- Kuwait donated USD one million to help feed children in Gaza. (end) gta
