US Navy targeted in "possible" attack from Ansarullah areas in Yemen

WASHINGTON, Oct 16 (KUNA) -- The US Navy said on Sunday that a group of its warships in the Red Sea deployed defensive measures after a "possible" missile attack from Ansarullah-controlled areas in Yemen.
The "indications of a possible inbound missile threat" have sparked an investigation, said US Navy Forces Central Command spokeswoman Capt. Paula Dunn.
She added in a statement that all ships and sailors are safe.
Last Thursday, the US struck three Ansarullah positions by Tomahawk missile in retaliation to two failed missile attacks on its vessels navigating in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab Strait. (end) sd.mb
