ISTANBUL, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The Turkish army has killed eight militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in an operation in Cukurca district in Hakkari in southeast Turkey, the army's general staff said.
Weapons and ammunition were also seized by Turkish troops during the operation, it said in a statement on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, six Turkish soldiers were killed and seven others were injured in a booby-trapped car explosion in Hakkari city southeast of the country, the Turkish military said.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU, resumed its attacks against Turkish targets in July of 2015 after a three-year ceasefire. (end)
