ISLAMABAD, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- At least 13 civilians were killed and 14 others wounded in a US- led drone strike in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, said officials on Wednesday.
Provincial governor's spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani told media that the unmanned aircraft fired a missile into the Shadal Bazaar area of Achin district in Nangarhar.
At least 13 civilians have been killed and 14 others wounded in the strike that targeted the house of a public health employee.
Commander of Afghan Local Police (ALP), Malang confirming the strike said that 13 people were killed and 27 others wounded in the drone strike. He confirmed the dead and injured were civilians.
Earlier this month, at least eight Afghan National Police (ANP) personnel have been killed in US airstrikes on their checkpoint in Afghanistan's central Uruzgan province, said Highway Commander, Haji Rahimullah. (end)
