KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- The International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy (ICBOS) has yielded calls for youth to further hone their creative and innovative skills to morph into adroit and responsible leaders.
Speaking to future leaders of the nation, Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister urged youth to take on all challenges and lead by example, attributes needed to ensure the prosperity and development of any nation.
Moreover, he spoke about the conference paying ultimate dividends for the country, as increased development is palpable in cities across the Southeast Asian nation, adding that ICBOS would be the launch pad for Malaysia's 11th strategy, aimed at bringing its 2020 vision to fruition. "We have come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1957 and have left our mark on the international stage," he noted. The Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister also attributed the nation's meteoric growth to "inquisitive and creative minds." The two-day conference tackled issues including economic challenges and how to overcome them to attain persistent growth, as it attracted leaders of Commonwealth nations, in addition to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
With creativity at the heart of its national strategy, Malaysia has forged its "Blue Ocean Strategy" as an effort to become a full-fledged developed nation by 2020. (end) aab.nam
