Bahrain firm in its fight against terrorism - FM

MANAMA, May 22 (KUNA) -- Bahrain's Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Khalifa said Sunday the Kingdom's fight against terrorism was continuous, and Manama was working with other countries to address sources of finances to terrorists.
Sheikh Khaled, addressing the opening session of the 2nd Gulf Strategic Conference, said Bahrain was working hard to strengthening regional security and stability through the crack down on extremist groups.
Bahrain, he added, was also maintaining security of seas and fighting terrorists in Syria amidst critical geopolitical challenges.
"We are fighting terrorism on the ground and in territorial waters in the Gulf all the way to Aden waters," he said.
"Now we are doubling efforts to fighting terrorism through measures that will stop financing of terrorism in Syria ... in cooperation and coordination with allied countries," added Sheikh Khaled.
The two-day Gulf Strategic Conference, organized by Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT), discusses geopolitical changes in the world, cyber-terrorism and economic issues like low oil prices. (end) mge.bs
