Arab Coalition in Yemen announces cease-fire to allow humintarian aid

RIYADH, March 9 (KUNA) -- Arab Coalition Forces Command said on Wednesday a number of tribal and prominent Yemeni figures helped in enforcing a truce along the border between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
The command added in a statement that halt of military actions on the border aims at allowing delivery of humanitarian supplies to nearby Yemeni villages via Alab border crossing.
It also declared release of Saudi prisoner Corporal Jaber Asaad Al-Kaabi and seven Yemenis who had been taken as prisoners by the Saudi forces in the southern border region.
The Coalition Forces Command welcomed the "border truce" that came as part of implementing "restoring hope operation," indicating it might "contribute to efforts for reaching a political solution under the auspices of the United Nations in accordance with Security Council Resolution (2216)."(end) yms.ha
