Qatar supports Saudi Arabia, condemns attack on its embassy in Tehran

DOHA, Jan 3 (KUNA) -- Qatar on Sunday reiterated support to Saudi Arabia in its measures to maintain and safeguard security and stability, while denouncing the attack on the Saudi embassy in Tehran.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry reaffirmed in a statement full support to all efforts by Saudi Arabia to address all threats the kingdom and the region is facing currently.
It voiced strong condemnation of the attacks on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and the Saudi Consulate in Mashhad.
It described the attacks as a clear and unacceptable violation of international conventions and charters, and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Mission of 1961, which state the necessary protection of diplomatic missions and their staff. (end) nnd.mt
