Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) "warm winter campaign for 2016" to aid Syrian refugee families in Lebanon
BEIRUT, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) launched on Wednesday the "warm winter campaign for 2016" to aid about 30,000 Syrian refugee families live in shelters in Lebanon.
Head of KRCS delegation to Lebanon Musaed Al-Enzi told KUNA that the campaign includes food aid, blankets and medications, indicating that about 700 Syrian refugee families in Bekka, Baalabek and Al-Marj were aided.
The society is carrying out projects like bread and dialysis in Lebanon to aid the Syrian families in different areas in the host country, he added. He noted that Syrian refugees are in a dire need of humanitarian aid especially when winter falls as most of them are children and women who can't bear bad weather.
Al-Enzi expressed his hope that the society's campaigns and others could contribute to alleviating suffering of refugees.
On his part, Youssef Boutros, head of the Lebanese Red Cross Emergency Medical Service (EMS) teams in the Northern District, praised efforts of the society in delivering constantly humanitarian aid to the Syrian refugees.
Lebanon is hosting more than million refugees, mainly in Bekaa, Akkar, Tripoli, and others. (end) mah.ams.hm
