VIENNA, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday urged more pan-European effort, with better cooperation and border protection by EU member states, intelligence in particular, to fighter terrorism in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks that hit Paris.
A joint statement by Cameron and Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann after their talks in Vienna, said that the two countries share the view on the necessity of boosting cooperation to fight terrorism.
Meanwhile, Cameron and Fayman agreed that "intensive talks" need to be done regarding the issue of UK's referendum on quitting the European Union (EU).
The referendum is slated for early June 2016.
Recent polls showed that 52 percent of the British people prefer a withdrawal from the 28-member bloc.
The statement mentioned nothing about building a power station in Hinkley Point in England, amid popular opposition in Austria for offering aid to set up the plant. (end) amg.msa
