Fire in Saudi Arabia, kills six people, injures 206 others

RIYADH, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- A fire broke out at the residential complex for the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (ARAMCO) in eastern city of Khobar city, resulting in the death of six people and the injury of 206 others, said a statement Sunday.
Speaking to the press, head of the Civil Defense in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia Colonel Ali Al-Qahtani said that the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals and health centers for treatment.
He revealed that investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.
On its part, ARAMCO said that it had activated its emergency plan to deal with the situation. The company express sorrow towards the victims of the fire, and hoped for the swift recovery of the injured. (end) yms.gta
