Int'l support of UNRWA urgently needed - AlAraby

CAIRO, July 28 (KUNA)-- Arab League Secretary-General Nabil AlAraby stressed Tuesday importance of international community's support of UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), so Palestinian refugees are given much needed protection.
AlAraby said in a statement that he held a phone call conversation with Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, in which they discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the importance of financing UNRWA.
An emergency meeting of the Arab peace initiative committee, chaired by Egypt, involving Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) officials and Foreign Ministers from across the region has been announced for August 5.
Abbas will be attending the meeting, which has been called to examine the latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. (end) mfm.nam
