KUWAIT, May 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Abdullah Al-Muzayen advanced to the quarter finals of the 18th Asian Squash Championship after beating a Malaysian player three sets to one on Sunday.
Al-Muzayen, the third seed in the championship, succeeded in reaching the final four of this tournament, held at Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah's International Squask Complex.
The Kuwaiti player will now meet Nasser Iqbal from Pakistan.
President of Asian Squash Federation David Mui said in a statement to KUNA said he was impressed with the advancement of quality of the game, which was added by elite Asian players.
Mui said the Asian male and female players have remarkably improved in recent years, specially in Western Asia, where Al-Muzayen won the gold in the Asian Games that were held in South Korea last October.
He said he was confident Kuwait would succeed in hosting the world Squash championship next December. (end) fsa.bs
