TUNISIA, April 1 (KUNA) -- The Tunisian Red Crescent Society (TRCS) lauded Wednesday the success of the Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria, held in Kuwait yesterday, noting that it has transferred a true image of the humanitarian crisis in Syria to the world.
The conference also showed Kuwait's pioneering and leading role providing in humanitarian assistances for the Syrian people, particularly Syrian refugees and displaced ones, Dr. Taher Cheniti, TRCS Secretary General, stated to KUNA.
Kuwait has always been a proactive in providing aid and relief to those in need and affected ones due to natural and humanitarian disasters, said Cheniti, adding that Kuwait's leading role in humanitarian action was embodied in the UN's "historic" naming of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as "Humanitarian Leader" and the State of Kuwait as "Humanitarian Center".
