KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held talks with Japanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Yasuhide Nakayama and discussed a host of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Director of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's office, Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah, his Deputy Saleh Al-Loughani and Deputy Director of Asia Department Musaad Al-Thuwaikh.
Earlier today, Nakayama said Japan has so far contributed USD 509 million for the Syrian people and host communities in neighboring countries.
Speaking before the aid-pledging conference, Nakayama said Japan's assistance also included medium and long-term education aid.
He called for reaching a political solution for the Syrian people. (end) kt.bs
