Kuwait has pioneering moral, humanitarian positions - Iraqi VP

KUWAIT, March 30 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Vice-President Ayad Allawi Monday underscored Kuwait's pioneering moral and humanitarian positions at the Arab and international levels.
Speaking to KUNA following his arrival to take part in the Third International Pledging Humanitarian Conference for Syria, Allawi said Kuwait's hosting of the third aid-pledging conference was part of Kuwait's support to Arab and humanitarian causes.
The March 31 conference, also known as Kuwait III, would be held amidst regional uncertainties which require serious humanitarian actions, he said.
Allawi said the conflict in Syria forced millions of people to flee to neighboring countries, including around 250,000 in Iraq.
He said he expected Kuwait III to contribute to honoring needs of all Syrian people. (end) kt.bs
