Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, Ban discuss regional, int'l developments

KUWAIT, March 30 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon discussed Monday regional international issues of mutual interest, as well as preparations for Syria's aid-pledging conference.
The discussions took place during a banquet held by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled to Ban and his delegation for their visit to Kuwait to participate in the Third International Pledging Humanitarian Conference for Syria, due tomorrow.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also honored UN Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief coordinator Valerie Amos on occasion of leaving her office.
The dinner was attended by Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Attiyah, Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq, Amiri Diwan Advisor, head of the International Islamic Charitable Organization and UN Secretary General envoy for Humanitarian Affairs, and Foreign Undersecretary Khaled Al-Jarallah.
The dinner was also attended by Amos, Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby, Director of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's office Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Moammad Mohammad Al-Sabah, Director of the Foreign Ministry's International Organizations Jassem Al-Mubaraki and head of the protocols Ambassador Dhari Al-Ajran.
