KUWAIT, March 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti assistance targeting the humanitarian situation in Syria has contributed to lifting the suffering of displaced and refugee Syrians, an International Organization for Migration official said.
Speaking to KUNA one day ahead of her attendance of the Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria, IOM's Chief of Mission to Syria Maria Rumman said that the body is working in light of the capabilities at its disposal.
She urged the need for more assistance to those in need in Syria, adding that this illustrates the importance of the talks in Kuwait.
Rumman went on to praise the noble initiative carried out by Kuwait, led by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in its humanitarian efforts.
The IOM has representatives and volunteers all around Syria and is working to determine the various cases of displacement and the quickest way to address this through non-food assistance, providing shelter and assisting injured children. (end) kt.sd
