KUWAIT, March 29 (KUNA) -- KUNA's Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah took a field visit of the state news agency's media centre ahead of the Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria due on Tuesday.
The KUNA chief paid a visit to the news provider's exhibition wing, which includes a number of its publications.
Afterwards, he joined Deputy Director General for Administration, Finance and Telecommunications Abdulhamid Malek and Deputy Director General and Editor-in-Chief Saad Al-Ali in a visit to the KUNA media centre at Courtyard Marriot Hotel where he met with members of the team covering the Kuwait-hosted global event.
In a press statement, he stressed the importance of the media's role in highlighting the need for support of humanitarian work worldwide, particularly after the UN granted His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the title of Humanitarian Leader.
He also pointed out its role on highlighting the humanitarian message the country is pursuing in the aim of easing the suffering of the Syrian people amid a conflict which has entered a fifth year.
On the other hand, the KUNA chief praised the preparations of the Ministry of Information and all state institutions that are offering facilitations to journalists and reporters during the major event nationwide. (end) fk.sd
