Russian experts laud Kuwait for planned hosting 3rd conference for Syria

MOSCOW, March 15 (KUNA) -- Two Russian experts have praised Kuwait's decision to host the Third International Pledging Conference for Syria, due on March 31, affirming the gathering would contribute to easing off Syrian refugees' hardships.
Director of Orientalism Faculty Vladimir Isayev said in a statement to KUNA that Kuwait's hosting of the conference constituted a significant step that would help in alleviating suffering of millions of Syrians, noting that Kuwait has indeed earned the UN designation as a "Humanitarian Center." Kuwait has made numerous initiatives at the philanthropic level worldwide; writing off debts of poor nations, forming a special fund for aiding these countries in addition to assistance to Arab nations.
Humanitarian action has become an inseparable part of the State of Kuwait's foreign policy, Isayev said, also noting Kuwait is among a few countries that abstain from linking humanitarian help to political terms or privileges.
Yelena Melkomian, a professor at the Russian University, lauded Kuwait for hosting the two previous conferences at this level that resulted in securing millions of dollars worth of aid for the Syrians. (end) as.rk
