Lebanon stresses importance of supporting Kuwait's 3rd Donors Conf. for Syrians

BEIRUT, March 13 (KUNA) -- Lebanon's Minister of Social Affairs Rashid Darbas stressed Friday the importance of support offered by international donors to take part in the forthcoming Kuwait's Third Donors' pledging Conference, slated for March 31st.
Darbas made his remarks while meeting with a number of diplomats and UN officials to discuss his country's participation in the conference.
International donors are aware of Lebanon's significant participation in the conference, the Lebanese Minister said, highlighting Lebanon's needs to enable it address the growing demands of the Syrian refugees.
The donors also realize the importance of the call made by the UN and Lebanese government in meeting the country's additional needs to boost stability in refugees' host communities, said Darbas.
He also said that it is essential to mobilize humanitarian and development resources through infrastructure projects, job opportunities, and enhanced public services in host communities in Lebanon. (end) mah.ma
