UNSC mandate EU mission in CAR

NEW YORK, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- United Nations Security Council adopted here Tuesday resolution 2181 extending mandate of EU Mission in Central African Republic (CAR).
The Security Council decided to extend the authorization of the EU operation until March 15, 2015, in determination to the situation in the CAR where it continues to constitute a threat to international peace and security.
The extension came after taking note of the letter from CAR President of the Transition Catherine Samba-Panza that was addressed to the President of the Security Council earlier this month, in addition to a letter from High Representative of the EU Catherine Ashton. (end) mao.mt
