AMMAN, June 24 (KUNA) -- A woman was killed and 23 others wounded in a car-bomb blast that took place on Tuesday in Wadi Al-Thahab neighborhood in Homs city, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
Some of the injured are in critical condition, as the blast occurred at a usually busy market place, a source at the Homs police told the agency.
This is the second blast to hit the city in less than a week.
Last Thursday, 10 citizens were killed and 40 others injured when a car-bomb exploded near Maysaloun School in Al-Nazha neighborhood.
SANA also quoted a police source in Damascus countryside as saying that three mortar shells hit the town of Al-Kesswa, which resulted in the killing of five citizens and the injury of five more.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the blast took place on the outskirts of Wadi Al-Thahab; an area predominantly inhabited by Alawite citizens.
Meanwhile, the Syrian opposition, in a statement today, said that a number of casualties were reported at Aleppo's al-Marjeh neighborhood after an attack by explosive barrels, whereas air strikes of the Syrian regime covered a number of towns in Aleppo's southern and northern country sides.
