KUWAIT, June 3 (KUNA) -- The Cabinet at its weekly session held on Tuesday endorsed a host of bills, partly related to the country's key projects, the investment accord with Iraq and business and taxing with Honduras and Mali.
The Acting Prime Ministers, Minister of Interior, Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mohammaed Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, informed the ministers about His Highness the Amir's Order to grant the Kuwaiti citizenship to bodyguards of the late Amir, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The nationality was given to the bodyguards who escorted His Highness the late Amir when his motorcade was targeted "with the criminal and blatant attack in 1985, and that was out of His Highness' keenness on offering gratitude for any sincere effort and good act that embodies sacrifice for the homeland, its aloft status and sanctity," said a statement, announced after the session. The meeting was chaired by the Acting Premier and held at Seif Palace.
The Cabinet statement was read by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and the Acting Minister of Justice, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

The Cabinet was then apprised of a recent letter sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by the president of the Republic of Benin, inviting him to attend a roundtable meeting on development finance due in the European headquarters of the World Bank in Paris between June 17-19.
It was then informed about a recent letter sent to His Highness the Amir from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, inviting him to attend a meeting on the signing of treaties to be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York between September 23-25 and September 30-October 1, he added.
The ministers also reviewed a letter received by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah from the prime minister of Chad, inviting him to attend an international development finance conference in Paris on June 20-21 in partnership between Chad and the UN Development Program.
Afterwards, they approved a decree creating a body to be in charge of developing the Silk City and Boubyan Island, together with a draft decree to contribute to boost the capital of some Arab institutions, the cabinet minister noted.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a draft decree extending the task of the Public Authority for Assessment of Compensation for Damages resulting from the Iraqi Aggression on Kuwait, known as (PAAC), for another year.
The ministers finally considered issues on the agenda of the National Assembly and reports on the latest Arab and international developments. (end) mt
